Rising Storm: Rain Acid Barricade Unit Finished! All Dissolve!
Ladies and Gentlemen Today I am very pleased to announce we have some brand new content updates from the Rising Storm fan tribute project to showcase! First we have a new Promo Video of RisingStorm Alpha displayed on our welcome front page. So check that out!

Also, these following pictures where first posted on the Colony of gamers forum this morning the COG site got first look and are now being posted here..

To start off we have a brand new rain player unit ready to showcase that is the ever handy Acid barricade!





So as droplets of the rains of life can bring life to parched soils and land so can the elements of rain erode and dissolve! Unknown Rain Priest

Feng has also finalized the ice cannon along with its ice shard projectile!



Feng our head texture artist and modeler has also done new island textures to allow for unit platforms for rain player to now have an icy snow cover and main islands owned by rain to also have snow these updates will be implemented soon!


Lastly here is a group shot showing the new platforms and rain units all together!



Not that very visible but in background of the group shot is the rain temple! Feng has started re-skinning the temple and bring it up to quality to match all other rain units and also fix errors that were with the temple! Once the rain temple is re-textured it will look much better in-game and also be more optimized.

RS art and upcoming news!
We thought we would share some RS artwork that we have. Feel free to download from the link posted below and stick it as a desktop wallpaper. We might have some more downloadable RS artwork for the public soon. As for news, Feng has pretty much finished the Acid Barricade. It's looking pretty darn cool. Hopefully you'll be seeing that shortly. While Duhprey has taken a bit of a break to fight off an invasion of the Reapers and save the galaxy he did manage to find the time to create an auto updating version of RS, which will hopefully work once tested fully.

Needa is currently fixing up some icons and buttons and recently made new ingame menus (see below)



Also all ingame menu colors will be determined by the player's color ingame also (see images below). You probably wont see this in the builds to come just yet as there are more important things needed to be done first, but here's a glimpse into the future with a lot more to come

Rising Storm Alpha 3 public build released
Well its been a few months since our last release but we are pleased to now announce that Alpha 3 of Rising Storm is now ready for download and testing by the public, as always the latest Alpha build of Rising Storm can be downloaded from the following link

Alpha-3 Change List: Some of the key fixes and features and bug fixes as listed

New Game Play Features:

Priest Sacking now working so enemy priest can be captured and brought to altar for sacking

Win Game condition now set so player wins once enemy is sacked.


Bugs fixed

Path finding fix and networked streaks (which were in 56 patch 1 and 56 patch 2)

Multiplayer hosting and joining issues fixed so MP should now be stable for multiplayer gaming

Brightened up the altar and the thunder workshop

Fixed the pathfinding so that gatherers don't stop late in the game

Bridge system revamped to increase game performance and speeds.

Removed the random white dot thing

Fixed a problem where the path following would cause stutters (there's still an issue with placing objects late in the game, I'm not sure what that is...)

Fixed the thunder cannon's aiming.

Did some work with the gatherers so they don't teleport quite so much during high lag, not yet perfect


New Meshes

New resource gem from biss model

New Island edge meshes from Feng

Sun Stone tower updated by Feng
Outpost model retextured by Feng


Sounds: added for following units and buildings
Sun Balloon
Whirligig helicopter and its base
Sun Barricade
Sun Cannon

Rising Storm Update: Outpost Building and Stone Tower Redone!
Big update today! Feng_Long has posted two shiny new renders showing off the new texture "rework" he has done on the outpost building and Sun Stone-tower building

warning images may cause drooling .

And here is a promo render showing some of the detailing work on the outpost! still some tweaks to be done on the roof still but pretty much the outpost now looks way better then before when it had a temp texture slapped on it
